Hey hey hey!
Welcome to the rush page of the Alpha Kappa Chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma! I’m glad that you’ve shown interested in joining our fraternity and promise you that amazing things lie ahead. We strongly encourage you to participate in as many rush events as you can. This gives you a chance to meet brothers and other potential pledges. So, get excited and come on down to meet others who also have a shared interest in the sciences! If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com and see the Calendar of Events for upcoming rush events.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is rush?
Rush is a series of events designed for the brothers to just hang out with prospective members and determine whether Alpha Chi Sigma is the best place for them. Rush is usually informal and very fun!
Who can join Alpha Chi Sigma? Do I have to be a chemistry major to join?
We are open to people of all majors and areas of studies, as long as you have an interest in the sciences. While you do not have to be a Chemistry major, rushees should plan to take four chemistry classes (labs and classes count separately) before graduation. Additionally, first year first semester students must already have 12 credits (such as AP/IB or transfer credits) to join.
Do I have to attend every single rush event?
No. However, keep in mind that rush is designed for the rushee to get to know the brothers, which can determine whether or not you get a bid (an invitation) to pledge Alpha Chi Sigma. Therefore, it is in your best interest to attend as many rush events as you can.
What is the difference between rush and pledging?
Rush is informal and open to everyone. To become a pledge, the brotherhood must decide to extend a bid to a rushee. Pledging is a formal process, unique to the Alpha Kappa chapter, designed for the pledges to learn more about Alpha Chi Sigma’s history and mission. Don’t let this intimidate you though – pledge brothers form extremely close bonds with each other and the brothers!
Can I pledge another fraternity/sorority in addition to Alpha Chi Sigma?
Yes. However, keep in mind that pledging is a time consuming (but worthwhile) process.
